Hello Matti!

The pilot Ofw. Otto Elz (23.06.1913) was taken prisoner. The observer and radio operator, going down on parachutes, were shot by machine-gun fire the Russian soldiers.

Два самолёта сбиты русскими лётчиками. Мой самолёт сбит прямым попаданием снаряда русской зенитки в районе железной дороги. Официальные немецкие сообщения о потерях немецкой авиации не пользуются никаким доверием.Чтение сводок обычно сопровождается насмешками и ядовитыми остротами по адресу тех, кто сочиняет такую явную чушь. Из многочисленных наблюдений я заключил, что лётчики, уже побывавшие в России, не имеют ни малейшего желания вернуться обратно. Я также не хотел ехать на фронт, ибо мне ясно, что Германии не удастся избежать поражения. А когда вера в победу подорвана и утрачена, сражаться невозможно».

Interesting thread. In my humble opinion, access to Soviet archives should allow to complete a lot of German losses where the aircraft and crew are just listed as missing in Luftwaffe losses list, just as in this case.
