Re: Help please in identifying german aircraft "Werk-Nr." plate

Thank you Falcon,

Simon is posting his pictures himself now. Our common interest is 113th Battery LAA but I am still looking for any further information sources on Ofw Krenz and Bf 8703 if you can help at all
Thanks

Peter

Re: Help please in identifying german aircraft "Werk-Nr." plate

Hi Peter and all

Facinating thread, I am in the process of building a short run of Bf109E tails and would very much appreciate some info regarding this data plate.

Could anyone show me where this plate was mounted at the rear?
Any photos showing the plate in situe?

Hi Peter could you measure your plate for me, thickness and overal dimensions?
Thanks

Drew

Here is a pic that David took some time ago. You can see it just above the access hatch:

Re: Help please in identifying german aircraft "Werk-Nr." plate

Hi Paul
I have been collecting original parts for a run of 3 tail planes including tail wheels for some time now.
But rather than hi-jack this thread I might start up a new one if people would find it interesting and share pictures as the project progresses.
I have to admit I am new to the warbird scene but have been looking for a new project following the completion of a 1944 Kubelwagen after a six year restoration.
Regards
Drew
