On 28 Jul 1943, Feldwebel Helmut Missner of 2./JG 54 claimed a Yak-7 at an altitude of 2500m at 3:10 p.m. (German or 4:10 p.m. Soviet) in the area
54594 (18 km NE of Karatchev; 18 km east of Lydi).

This day according to the report of the 303rd IAD:
The "Normandy" squadron patrolled from 1:20 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to cover our troops on the battlefield in the region of Lyady (village 18 km NNE of Karatchev.), Paseka (small village, 14 km NNE of Karatchev), Alekhino (20 km NE of Karatchev, 15 km NW of Khotinets). 7 Yak-9s made 13 flights for a duration of 15 h 28 m.
A group dogfight against 6 FW-19s and 30 Ju-87s took place. At 4:05 p.m., 6 Yak-9, under the command of Lieutenant Albert, covering our troops on the battlefield in the Jeltovodye region (6 km east of Liady.), met at an altitude of 1500-2000 Mr. up to 30 Ju-87; under the protection of 6 FW-190s, our fighters launched an attack on the enemy bombers, and they were engaged by the enemy fighters for 15 minutes, conducting a dogfight without causing any casualties to the enemy.
Captain Préziosi did not return from the mission. Cause not established.

In all likelihood Feldwebel Helmut Missner shot down Captain Albert Préziosi of GC3 "Normandie"
