Re: Two late war Bf109 to id - photo.

Hello Kris,

- About JG 3's Bf 109G-10, there is one published by Hitchcock:
G-10. 3./JG3. 'Schwarze 7' 'Luisl'. WkNr.490708. Uffz. Franz Mörl. Eupen, 24 December 1944. And it's an Erla made.
With two other pictures found on eBay/Internet. You can find one or two threads in TOCH concerning this machine after eBay auction and some US veteran sites comments.

- About picture 2/ (your first post)
A Bf109G-14, 'Blaue 4' of 12./JG 53, W.Nr.462 789. Kirrlach, 13 January 1945.

Franck.

Re: Two late war Bf109 to id - photo.

Another Erla built Bf109G-10 serving with II./JG3 was 490137. It was flown to Sweden by Waldemar Wagler of JG51 on April 24 1945, Wagler was supposed to have ferried this aircraft from Garz to his unit in the east but he chose to fly to Sweden and surrender instead.

From the photos it's obvious that the aircraft had belonged to JG3, based at Garz at the time.

Cheers / Anders

Re: Two late war Bf109 to id - photo.

That's the one, I'm on holiday now but if you're interested, I can send you some pictures and a profile I've done, I guess it would have to wait until August though... Meanwhile there's some stuff here although in Swedish. The pictures mostly show the aircraft repainted but the profile shows how it looked when it landed. That profile is by Claes Sundin, mine is similar and I agree with the colors but I'm somewhat sceptical about the yellow under cowling.
