hello everybody ,
i am having a problem finding from where this compas is comming from , some say that its it luftwaffe , others says that this is of a german boat ???
i think more of an aircraft ( what aircraft ?)becouse if you look good , you wil see more than 100 springs around the border to minimise the vibrations.
its german for shure : the plate marks are :
" MUTTERKOMPAS "
" Hersteller GVY WERK N°18706 "

Thank you

Re: Help Wanted " Luftwaffe Kompas ?"

It looks like a standard Lw Mutterkompass to me.

For comparison, here is a Lw Patin Mutterkompass from "Luftfahrtmuseum Hannover-Laatzen":

...and it is also listed here with mention of it being fitted to a diverse selection of Luftwaffe types. There are also images here with mention of it being fitted in a Bf109 and if you navigate down this page, you find a compass fitted within the fuselage of an Arado Ar96B...

Kind regards

Re: Help Wanted " Luftwaffe Kompas ?"

The word "compass" may easily be misunderstood. In fact, it is the remote sensing unit for the main indicator unit.
