Attacks on Maupertus airfield Aug '41

Hi,

During August 1941 263 Squadron attacked the airfield at Maupertus on a number of occassions. The following claims were made for destroyed or damaged aircraft during these attacks.

5th August 1 Ju87 destroyed on ground, 2 Ju87s damaged on ground and 2 Bf109s damaged on ground.

6th August 1 Ju87 destroyed (in air?), 1 Bf109 destroyed (during take of run), 2 Ju87 destroyed on ground, 2 Ju87 damaged on ground and 2 Bf109s damaged on ground.

26th August 5 Ju87s destroyed on ground.
Would anyone know the actual losses suffered by the Luftwaffe during these attacks? And what units were present at Maupertus airfield at that time?

Regards,

Alex

I checked, nd also with the schools, no Ju87 were lost to any cause in the west in Aug.41, except one you made a crashland. near Gent
It seems that people in WWII who invest to much in the bombing lost a bit of their money for poor returns

Hi Remi,

Thanks. In the ORB it states that during one attack the Ju87s were line up in a straight row and 'may' have been dummies.

Hi
slightly side tracking the thread, as it appears the Ju-87's might have been dummies.

St.G.1. were operating in the channel area in 1941

Erg.Staffel/St.G.1. were in belgium in early mid 41
