Dive Bombing accuracy?
Just read a letter to a Journal claiming that dive bombing accuracy in Malaya - presumably using Tempest aircraft - was 25 yards error.
I know I wasn't the world's greatest weaponry artist but, although I scored a few direct hits in trials, in P47s, my guaranteed error was not as good as that. Comments? PS I note that in level bombing in Hinds, age 19, my error was between 8 & 30 yards. We also had 2 Vickers Machine Guns!! PPS We were even 'bombed-up' in Tiger Moths in 1939!! |
