26th JULY 1944 losses over Austria

Good night to all!
I am trying to check the Fw 190 and Bf 109G losses ( almost certainly from JG 300 ) involved on the fight against the 325th FG over Austria on 26th JULY 1944.
Does anyone know about the losses who matches the Checkertails claims?
( I am particularly interested on the claims of Lt. Art Fiedler - who had already shared with us most of his claims ).
Thanks for all help and contribution
Adriano

Re: 26th JULY 1944 losses over Austria

Maybe its best to ask Martin Handig as he is presently compiling the second edition of a standard work, detailing all known LW losses over Austria.
I can only provide this link as a reference to the book (scroll down a little further )
http://www.rlm.at/cont/profil12.htm

hope this helps
cheers

Re: 26th JULY 1944 losses over Austria

Hello, Peter, Griffon and Simon!
Thanks for enhancing my researches. I am still looking for identifying the pilots, but would try to find out those books you mentioned. I heard that .4/ JG 27 was involved also on the big combats on 26th July. Have you heard about any losses?
Have you positively identified Art Fiedler´s claims?
Thanks again for your help. It was really valuable and helped me a lot.
Yours
Adriano

Re: 26th JULY 1944 losses over Austria

Grifon and friends,
I found JG 300 losses at www.jg300.de, a site from Bobo, a German researcher and writer.
Those are the mentioned losses:
.2/JG 300
????????????? Bf 109 G-6
.4/JG 300 ( Fw 190 A-8 - White 12, 16 )
Uffz. Gerhard Schlingheider – Budapest ( Hungria )
Ogfr. Martin Köhler – Graz
Ofw. Heinz Hoenmans – Neukirchen
.5/JG 300 ( Fw 190 A-8 – Red 4, 10, 15)
Fw. Gunther Stephan ( St. Marein/ Bruck )
Ogfr. Heinz Westerdorf ( Langenwang )
Lt. Gerhard Nehls ( Neukirchen )
.6/JG 300 ( Fw 190 A-7/A-8 – Yellow 6, 8 )
Uffz. Hans Winhusen ( Markensdorf/Wien ) Fw 190 A-7/M?
Uffz. Karl Henschel ( Wieners/Neustadt ) A-8

Do you know who was flying which plane? Do you have at least the name of the JG 300 Bf 109 G pilot?
Thanks again for helping
Yours
Adriano

Hi Adriano,

Just have a look in our JG 300 chronicle (volume 1 by Eagle Editions, USA). Then you will perhaps never more visit the "JG 300 site". The webmaster Bobo - Burkhard Otto - is often unaware of the real JG 300 losses and many others things.

All the best

JYL

Re: 26th JULY 1944 losses over Austria

Salut Jean-Yves!
Adriano

Hi Adriano!

thank you for the kind words...

...et félicitations pour ce bon usage du Français! of course this book contains many unknown claims and some new losses. No wonder after over twenty + years of intensive research.

I only hope you really enjoy our book - all the best

JYL
