Lancaster PB 846 of 300 Sqn, 28 Jan 1945
Hello,
I’m (still) looking for F/O Romuald Andrzej Paszkowski. It is certain that he was a navigator, a member of 300 Sqn. RAF. He was KiA in Avro Lancaster PB 846 on 28 January 1945 over Berneck-Schwarzwald during bomb raid on Stuttgart. Together with him were killed: a pilot Z. E. Zarębski and a gunner K. Cymbała Four crew members were taken PoWs: Z. Wesołowski, J. Gerwatowski, P. Barzdo and R. Mańkowski. I’ve found also information that these three killed airmen lie in Berneck. Can someone confirm this and give me more details about their graves? Besides, I’m looking for RAF ranks of all the crew, confirmation of Lancaster’s factory number, a tactical number (BH-?) etc. Thanks for help Nef |

Hi Nef,
The 3 aircrew killed are all buried at Durnbach Cemetery in Bavaria, Southern Germany. I will check my photographic records as i may well have photographs of their graves. I will check later and get back to you. All the best, David.

Re: Lancaster PB 846 of 300 Sqn, 28 Jan 1945
David, thank You for great help !
My friends for whom I try to find informations about P/O Paszkowski got only some his stuff (jacket, maps) in the 60s via Red Cross. Until now they even didn't know the date of his death. Unfortunatelly, there's nothing about polish airmen on the page of Durnbach War Cemetery - http://www.cwgc.org/search/cemetery_details.aspx?cemetery=2008700&mode=1 except a mention that there are about 30 polish graves (every identified allied grave has its own description). If You have photos of graves, it would be wonderful. Best regards Nef |

Hi Nef,
I have photos of Zarebski's and R.A Paszkowski's headstones. I believe i have the other two as well. I will have to have them copied but you are welcome to copies if you want them. All the best, David.
