Ofw Karl Mentnich JG 27
Can anybody tell me if Ofw Karl Mentnich (flying with II./JG 27 in early 1944) survived the war?
If not, any clues on when and where he was killed. Thanks in advance, Ivo de Jong |

Re: Ofw Karl Mentnich JG 27
Ivo,
He is listed as gestorben in Ring/Girbig's "Jagdgeschwader 27", unfortunatelly I couldn't find any exact date of his death. The last mention is that he was wounded on 22 April 1944 in Reichsverteidigung, when in 4./JG 27. His final score stood on 8, including 1 four-engine bomber. He was also a member of I/JG 27 before, I believe 3./JG 27 in 1942. Hope this helps a little. Regards Nef |
