Loss of He 111H-16 of 1./KG 53 10/12 1944.

On 10/12 1944 He 111H-16 werknummer 161442 of 1./ KG 53 crashed into the North Sea killing the crew of Fw Fritz Knop, Uffz Waldemar Vahle, Fhr Fritz Brugger, Uffz Günter Lis (rest Frederikshavn) and Ofh Kurt Tornier (rest Kviberg).
Can anyone tell me what the purpose of this Feindflug was and where the He 111 took off from.
Thank you in advance.

NVM says England but I believe that the majority of V1 attacks at the start of Dec 44 were against London. I also believe they were based at Varelbusch

KG 53 flew 15 sorties this night. The target was London. 7 launches were aborted. Three V-1's got through - the rest was shot down by AA.
