Blenheim on 6 April 1941

Hello,

I try, like so many of us and sometime hopeless, to cross over German claims and Allied losses. My focus is JG 2 since we are very close to finish with the volume 2.

On 6 April, 3 JG 2 pilots claimed 3 Blenheims.

_ Blenheim V5962 of N° 59 Sq. was probably shot down by Fw. Eberhard Bauer at 12h45;
_ Beaufort N1147 of N° 22 Sq. (probably misidentified as a Blenheim), could have been shot down by Oblt. Hans-Jürgen Hepe at 13h40;
_ But what could be the Blenheim claimed by Hptm. Greisert near Brest at 16 hours?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Cheers
Erik

Re: Blenheim on 6 April 1941

Hi Erik

My notes for 6 April are not very detailed but show the following:

Blenheim V5962 59 Squadron (P/Off Lishman) shot down by JG2 off Morlaix

Beaufort N1147 (F/Off Hicks) probably shot down by Bf110

I don't know if this helps or confuses!

Cheers
Brian

Hello Brian,

thanks for the reply. Difficult to say if it helps or confuses. But it confirms again how it is difficult to know who did what, and also to be confident in the different lists (losses and claims).

Best regards
Erik
