Pilot lo on the 11th July 1940.
Hi,
Am seeking the details of a Luftwaffe Pilot that may have been shot down on the 11th July 1940. RAF pilot claimed to have destroyed an Enemy fighter . Perhaps the pilot made it back , any details of crash landings or any bale outs or injuries on return that day ? Many thanks Alex |

Re: Pilot lo on the 11th July 1940.
Alex: A bit vague. When you say enemy fighter, do you mean 109 or 110?The only 109 apparently claimed was by Plt Off Jarvis Blayney of 609 Sqn but not according to Blayney when I contacted him many years ago. In any case, I have no other 109 losses that day but there were 4 well documented 110s of III/ZG 76 lost that day to 87, 145, 238 & 601 Sqns. They claimed 10 destroyed when only 4 were lost
