Shooting down aircraft by mistaken identity

Wutz Galland reportedly mistook a Messerschmitt Bf 109G in his Geschwader for a Spitfire and shot it down with loss of pilot and Wilhelm Steinmann reportedly shot down the Messerschmitt of Luftwaffe ace Erich Hohagen (injured). Are there other notable accounts of same-side aircraft shot down by mistaken identity?

Thanks,
Kenneth
