Pilot Uffz. HANS LANGER 4. JG 51

I am looking for info , pictures and a contact with relatives of the Luftwaffe ' Pilot Uffz. HANS LANGER who claimed the B-17 serial # 42-5409 "Lydia Pinkham" , 2nd B.G. USAAF, Target Innsbruck M/Y , Pilot Lt. Robert D. Peterson, 1 KIA , 9 POW , crash ground : Sevegliano / Bagnaria Arsa near Udine, Northern Italy . Sonntag 19 December 1943.
And also : wich was the plane in the Unit at this time , Bf 109 or Fw 190 ?
Every contribution , like eventual strike photos or the exploded wreckage , will be remembered as credit during the following Conference in Udine about this one event.
Thanks .

Re: Pilot Uffz. HANS LANGER 4. JG 51

Hello Giorgio,

Uffz. Hans Langer was a member of 4./JG51 and flew a Bf 109G-6 onthe 19.12.43. His group was stationed at Udine.
I hope this helps you a bit.

best regards,
Tomislav

Re: Pilot Uffz. HANS LANGER 4. JG 51

Fw Hans Langer, +10 V, 3 Viermot, all scored on Western Front.
He survived the war and is quoted in Martin Middlebrook's book, "The Schweinfurt-Regensburg Mission" (p186-187). Curiously, he is listed as a Hauptman (sic) and the Staffelkapitan of II/JG-51, an obvious mistake.
Another German pilot pumping up his resume??
