Fieseler Fi-103R restoration help
Hi everyone,
This is my first post to the forum although I suspect it is just the first of many.
I’m heading up the restoration of a Fieseler Fi-103R-IV Reichenberg located at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The W Nr. of our Reichenberg is 6\1897, with the serial of Re4-135 stenciled on the side of the canopy.
I’m wondering if the incredible wealth of knowledge that seems to reside within this forum, might be able shed some light on the history of our machine such as it’s place of manufacture and obviously anything else that would help fill in the vast gaps that exist.
I would also like to put out a call for any technical information that anyone might have for the Reichenberg as well as the sharing of any photographs that may exist. I have the Myhra publication and have gleaned all photos that the internet seems to harbour, however there is not a lot of information out there for the Reichenberg. We have to re-build the entire cockpit which at some point was gutted leaving only the fuel controls, as well as building a complete set of wings from scratch (wings did not accompany the machine back from Europe). So any information such as confirmation that the wings were plywood covered and not steel, possible leads on plans for V-1 wings etc. is most welcome.
Thank you in advance for any and all assistance that you may be able to provide.
