Messerschmitt 109 E main build plates
Can anyone throw any light on whether there are any known examples on Battle of Britain/1940 period 109 E's of the main build data plates (external port side fuselage, forward below cockpit and above wing root) being two-rivet examples instead of the usual rectangular plate secured by a rivet in each four corners? The data plate(s) in question is/are rectangular but with rounded triangular ends - if that makes sense - with a single rivet securing hole at the apex of each rounded triangular end. If so, does anyone know of photographs of any examples??
