Excellent performance of German airmen
„Excellent performance of German airmen.
Berlin, 11. September 1939. During the combat flight behind the front line deeper into Poland territory, one bomber a/c was forced to emergency land at Diskov near Tluscz. Crew of another bomber plane decided to help comrades and landed near the malfunctioned a/c. Under the fire of Polish grenades, both crews set on fire broken plane to prevent its captivation by Poles, and took off in the other a/c.” Hi all! Does anyone know more details about cited incident? Was there more happenings like this during September 1939 campaign in Poland? Thanks in forward ![]() Boris |
