Brian many thanks for the info. could i ask if Uberfuhrungflug roughly translates as " Overland flight " ?

Also i have come across another document that states W.Nr 140319 was coded F1+DR.

Best regs,
Steve.

Re: Arado 234 losses KG76

Steve , You may well be right with F1+DR my record is quite poor and hard to read in places, it looks like 'O' but I cannot be certain. Fw Hilsmann's aircraft markings are really hard to make out which is why I made no attempt to indicate them.
As regards Uberfuhrungflug I believe this is a non operational training flight perhape to achieve a pass rating to fly an aircraft type. Perhaps someone with a better understanding of German could help,

Überführungsflug translates as ferry flight.

Überlandsflug (which does appear in log books sometimes) is a cross-country flight.

Re: Arado 234 losses KG76

The Namentliche Verlustmeldung of Uffz. Dorn clearly states F1+OR. Hillsmann Namentliche Verlustmeldung is unreadable.

Cheers,

John.

Re: Arado 234 losses KG76

Well Guys

Clear or not clear, two second hand sources (books) claims two different things.
Monogram Ar 234 by Smith/Creek: F1+DR
Motorbuch Ar 234 by Griehl: F1+OR

Obviously whatever documents are left to for us to interpret there are various interpretations....

Cheers
Stig
