Unusual fuselage codes on a He 70

Recently, there was an interesting photo sold on eBay, which apparently shows a He 70 with the following fuselage code: E2+4- (see scan below).

Reportedly, the code 'E2' belonged to Erprobungsstelle Rechlin.

Any further thoughts?
