Re: Photos 7-29

Hi,

there is another photo of this plane showing four black victory tabs of tail-fin. Taking into consideration the early stage of "yellow identification" elements it easy to track down the pilot.
My assumption is that this loss was listed on the 13.08.40 as follows:
9/JG51 N.N. LK ueber Coquelles, Bruchlandung 80% Bf109E4 but this only assumption.

Regards

Robert

Re: Photos 7-29

Stig,

The evidence for this being the a/c of K-H Schnell of 9./JG51 is cumulative. The most important piece of evidence is that his flight logbook confirms that he flew "Yellow 13" up to the date that Robert mentions, and it carries his victory tabs on the port fin, although they are painted out on the starboard side. It fits a loss on that date, although his FB doesn't specifically say that Schnell FL it that day. After that he always flew another plane. Some other pilot could have been flying his plane the day it was lost, but there is no question that it was the aircraft that Schnell normally flew up to that date.

Regards,

Hi,
Just wondering in which book or review you've seen this another one photo, with 4 victory tabs? Or was it also on ebay auctions?
Cheers,
