KG 26 Fuselage Art on eBay auction today
Hello,
A photo of this fuselage art on a KG26 aircraft has been published somewhere before, probably in one of Karl Ries' books. Does anyone know where this was, and/or what the full code of the aircraft was, or any other particulars about this aircraft? This went on eBay today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...0%3D%26fvi%3D1 Thanks, |

Re: KG 26 Fuselage Art on eBay auction today
Peter,
Thanks. Obviously this issue has been dealt with on the Experten message board. I'm still looking for detailed info on the codes for this aircraft, which we know was from KG26. Any known photos showing this? Regards, |

Re: KG 26 Fuselage Art on eBay auction today
Jim,
Thanx for the identity of 1H+DA with the cartoon artwork. Can you tell me what time frame this artwork was on the plane? Jim, Can I ask where the new Stab KG26 photos are being published? Regards, |

Roger,
Thanks for the reference to the photos. Certainly confirms the code as 1H+DA, and time frame of very early war. Regards, |

Re: KG 26 Fuselage Art on eBay auction today
Hello,
I've now located in my Data Base several photos from the series of Stab KG26 fuselage art from about the time of the Polish Campaign. These date back as early as 2005 on German eBay auctions. One is "Hosenbrummer", either 1H+BA or 1H+DA, I'm not sure which. A second is 1H+GA, which shows Mickey Mouse riding a bomb, and a third shows an indian warrior with three feathers, a rifle and a tomahawk, all painted very crudely. I've seen this somewhere in the old Ries books, as well. Does anyone know the fuselage code of the aircraft with the head of an indian warrior, almost certainly also with the StabStaffel of KG26 in the late-summer or fall of 1939? It looks like the words "huff, huff" are printed next to this face. Does anyone know where this artwork was previously published in the old Karl Ries series of books, which I'm pretty sure was where I originally saw it? Thanx, |
