German airfield in Norway ???

Hi all,

can anyone identify this airfield? I think it's in Norway, but that's just my personal idea.

There are about a dozen Ju 52 (one completely wrecked) and two He 111 (of which one is wrecked, belonging to KG 54) in this picture but of none of them the unit code is clearly visible.

Thanks in advance.
Rudi.

Re: German airfield in Norway ???

Thanks for your reply, Olve.

Attached is the picture of the He 111 of II./KG 54 at Oslo-Fornebu. It seems te be "dumped" at a sort of scrapyard at a corner of the airfield.

Most of the tailsection is missing and there is some damage to the left wing. Although the left undercarriage seems to be broken, the left rotor blades seems to be intact, which probably mean that the undercrriage wasn't broken during a bad landing.

Any ideas about this aircraft anyone?

Thanks in advance,
Rudi.

Re: German airfield in Norway ???

Hi Rudi,

your plane is probably B3+DP. I have another shot of this one and it looks like a some kind of ground collision in April 1940 but I don`t have further details.

Regards

Robert
