Good night to all!
I came around a very interesting picture of a B-24 J from 27th Bomb Squadron ( 30th Bomb Group ) nicknamed "BOLIVAR" by its crew. This ship completed 81 bomb missions over the PACIFIC with 3 different crews.
I would like, with the help of PACIFIC AIR WAR experts, if possible, to obtain the crew names. I do have tried to obtain more information about this ship, but the date of its crash in the USA is not available, unfortunately...A second B-24 was nicknamed BOLIVAR JR and continued the tradition, but my main focus is to discover more about the first BOLIVAR and its crews.
Thanks in advance for any clues and information about this particular bird and crew.
Adriano Baumgartner

Sorry the typo...this ship was from 27th Bomb SQUADRON!

Re: 27th Bomb Group B-24 "Bolivar" crew needed!

I saw where you were looking for the crew of the original Bolivar ... I can't help with that. But I did want to mention that my dad was the pilot of a B-24 Liberator named "Bolivar Jr.". His name was James Hughs Mercer from Wilson, NC. He passed away in 1996 with Alzheimers ... and I only got to hear his war stories when I was young. Now that I'm much older and would appreciate his stories, I wish I could hear them again. I still have his flight logs and other momentos.
