question for Mark Proulx\Jerry Crandall

I'd be interested to hear if Mark, Jerry or anybody else had comments about the following. I have quite a collection of Eagle Editions books (counting down until Dora vol 2 is released!) and while flicking through Wings of the Black Cross 5 I noticed a photo of a Fw-190 on page 8.
It appears as the middle of photo and is in a Luftwaffe graveyard, it's captioned as being 'red 6' but what I found interesting is what appears to be the so called defense of the reich bands on the tail. No mention of this is made in the caption and I wondered what unit it might have belonged to?
Strongest possibilty I suppose would be Jg-300 as they appear light in colour, but perhaps this could even be a Jg-2 Fw-190a? Another alternative is that it's just a single band I guess.
Also, on page 11 the top photo is of the well known Jg-301 Fw-190 'red 22'. However to me the '22' looks considerably lighter in tone to the red part of the tailband, could this aircraft's number actually have been something other than red or is just due to a poorer quality of paint that has just faded faster?
Anyway, any thoughts are most welcome!
