Re: Junkers Ju-88 G6 werknr.621964 4./JG3

On page 436 of Balss's "Deutsche Nachtjagd: Personal verluste ..." I have the following report that indicates a Ju 88 G-6 destroyed by enemy fire, with 2 KIA and no mention of the other 2 crew members. The crash site is 1.7km east of Luettich, Belgium. The W.Nr. is shown as 620 551, and the a/c belonged to Stab NJG 3. Ofw. Martin Kramer and Gefr. Heinrich Prinz are the 2 KIAs.

Hope this helps,
George

OK guys, two different a/c here.....

01.01.1945, 01.20 hrs, Ju 88G-6, WNr. 621964, D5+MM, 4./NJG 3
Take off Husum, 23.50 hrs.
FF: Uffz. Gerhard Maus, KIA
BF: Uffz. Johannes Gabriel, POW
BF: Uffz. Heinz Wörheide, KIA (shot whilst escaping)
BS: Ogfr. Helmut Mersmann, POW
Crashed: 2 miles east Bocholt, 16 miles west Roermond.

31.12.1944/01.01.1945, Ju 88G-6, WNr. 620551, D5+FA, Stab NJG 3.
FF: Ofw. Martin Kramer, KIA
BF: Oblt. Wolfgang Fuchs, KIA
BM: Gefr. Heinrich Prinz, KIA
Crashed: Souverain/Wandre, 1 mile east of Liege.

The fate of Oblt. Wolfgang Fuchs (NO from Stab) was solved by myself back in 1997. He wasn't listed on the original VLM but on a seperate VLM.

Cheers,

John.
