Si204 shot down by 130 Sqn, 5 May 1945
A Siebel 204 became the last Luftwaffe aircraft to be shot down by 125 Wing on the morning of 5 May 1945. At 06:30, 130 Squadron was vectored onto the aircraft and the 125 Wing ORB later recorded,
The aircraft was flying south near HAMBURG and on sighting our aircraft immediately turned north and started evasive action. As the war was still on, F/LT Gibbons and F/Sgt Seymour had no option but to shoot it down, and that was that. (125 Wing ORB, 5 May 1945, TNA AIR 26/185) Can anyone identify the unit and pilot, please? Thanks Steve |
