KG76 1943 - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

On 22.febr. 1943, Planes of KG76 were protecting ships near Sicilia, on KTB of the unit it is noted that the plane of Maj. Maier crashed burning , I couldn't found the loss, any idea ??

Luft Qm returns of 24-2-43 has the following - 22-2-43 Ju88A4 wn 2273 F1+HP of 4/KG76 fell to fighter attack Pl.Qu 1824/13 Ost. Ff Maj. Richard Mayer St. Kap, B Ogef Georg Hofmann, Bs Fw Karl Ross, Bf Uffz Hans Haberland all missing to dead,

Thks Brian, I see it now, in fact between Italy nd Sicilia in the Messina Stretto
