Question 1942 Luftwaffe Do217 unit code 'ML'??

Hello chaps

This is a lesson in joined-up thinking...

Have just been going through my notebook and found a note from 5 years ago stating:

'Do217 unit code ML+?? attacked Midlands in June 1942'

Just because I knew what I was going on about 5 years ago, doesn't mean I would know what the hell I was going on about 5 years later!

So, does anybody know which bomber unit carried the code ML+ in June 1942?

Thanks for rebooting my otherwise rapidly failing grey matter...

Austin

Austin: ML+ no but +ML yes as ac M of 3 Staffel. Units operating Do 217s at that time were KG 2 (U5+) or KG 40 (F8+)

Hello,
Found an image from an eBay auction Nov 2006 of U5+KL at Gilze Rijen as an example of what Chris wrote regarding codes.
