392BG, B-24, 42-7488, shotdown by NJG3, Hptm. Paul Szameitat?

I just seen on Jeff Baugher's website of U.S. military aircraft serial numbers that B-24H, 42-7488 was shot down on 8 October 1943 near Vegasack by Hptm. Paul Szameitat, NJG3, flying a JU88C-6. This B-24 was lost that day in that area. The MACR mentions attacks by single and twin engine fighters. Does anyone have any proof of this claim or at least some coorberating documentation?

Patrick
