Facts about JG27 During Battle of Britain

Hello!
Since this is my first post on this forum I will introduce myself.
My name is Anders, I am twenty-five years old and I live in Sweden.
WWII aircraft and certainly those from the Luftwaffe has
been a big interest of mine for many years and the search for more
information goes on just about every day.

Right now I'm looking for some information about JG27's involvement
in the Battle of Britain. I have John Weals book about the Jagdgeschwader
and all though it's a very good book I think it lacks the in-depth facts that
I want. I want more facts about their day-to-day actions in the battle
and info about claims and losses.
So far I haven't found any literature that has that kind of information
and I wonder if there are any books out these who has it?

Kind regards,
Anders

From aviationarchaeology.org :

Murawski 'JG 27' (3 volumes, Polish & English text) (Kagero 2002)
J Prien, P Rodeike & G Stemmer 'Messerschmitt Bf 109 im Einsatz bei der I./JG 27' (1998)
J Prien, P Rodeike & G Stemmer 'Messerschmitt Bf 109 im Einsatz bei der II./JG 27' (1997)
J Prien, P Rodeike & G Stemmer 'Messerschmitt Bf 109 im Einsatz bei der III und IV./JG 27' (1995)
Hans Ring & Werner Girbig 'Jagdgeschwader 27: die Dokumentation über den Einsatz an allen Fronten 1939-1945' (Stuttgart: Motorbuch, 1975)
'JG 27 W Akcji vol 1' (Miniatury Lotnicze series no. 1)
'JG 27 W Akcji vol 2' (Miniatury Lotnicze series no. 5)
'JG 27 W Akcji vol 3' (Miniatury Lotnicze series no. 12)

Hope this helps,

Don

They have not, but as many will tell you it is not too difficult to figure out with the aid of a German/English dictionary and an internet translator. If you get stuck on something, you could always post a phrase or two here for assistance. History and a foreign language .

I think Schiffer Publications did a large book on JG 27 too.

Don

That is true. Not every information is handed to you. You have to dig a little for yourself.
When I was searching for books about Battle of Britain I found this:
The Battle of Britain: Then and now by W. Ramsey.

Has anyone read this book? Is it worth buying?

Regards,
Anders

Hi Anders,
I can confirm that 'BoB then and now' is a Battle of Britain must have for any enthusiast.
It lists day by day losses of both the RAF and Luftwaffe as well as hundreds of great images.
You may also want to consider a copy of Ken Wynns 'Men of the Battle of Britain'.
