Brest : loss of a He 111, 8 septembre 1940

Hello,

On 8th september 1940, a He 111 bomber crashed at Brest-Süd airdrome, just taking off. Two crewmen were killed and an other badly injured.

My questions :

- To which unit did this aicraft belong ?
- Identity of the crewmen ?
- cause of the crash ?

Thanks in advance

Pierre,

Do you have any photos of of this crash, or local information that would provide more "story" or eye-witness accounts of that happened?

Regards,

Thank you very much to Robert, Thenelen and Peter for their information ... exactly what I was searching.

To Larry : unfortunately I have no pictures, no local information and no eye-witness accounts ; I can just tell you my primary source : Bundesarchiv RL/21/144 (KTB Brest Süd).

Pierre
