Breitscheid-Airfield: Fw 190 unit around March '45?

An eye-witness told me that FW 190 were stationed for a short time at Breitscheid (vincinity of Herborn/Siegen), before the Americans came end of March 1945.

I know about NSG 2 in March 1945 and JG 11 in Sept/Oct 1944.

I am looking specifically for information regarding Fw 190 in February/March 1945 at Breitscheid.

Any idea?

Bf 109s of 3./NAG 1 were there in early-mid March alongside NSG 2 but I haven't found anything about Fw 190s so far.

I "ditto" Nick. They were both there 6-7 Mar - c. 29-30 Mar 45. Elements of JG 11 were there mid-Sep to mid-Oct 44, but that's too early for your purposes. It should be noted, as any Fliegerhorst Flugleitung log can confirm, Luftwaffe airfields had a lot of transit traffic due to QB weather conditions at a pilot's home airfield as well as for a variety of other reasons. It's entirely possible that a Kette, Schwarm or even a Staffel of Fw 190s diverted there for a couple of days and that's what the eyewitness saw.

3./NAG 1 was acc. to "Lexikon der Wehrmacht" in Twente?

09.00 hours [7 March 1945], order from Fl.Div. 15, all ground and flying elements of 3./NAG 1 to transfer to Breitscheid “as soon as the weather is suitable."

[At 16.30 hours] The last 3 a/c will transfer, taking off at 16.50 hours, as otherwise ferrying can no longer be guaranteed today.

Believed from 3./NAG 1 to FAG 123. Order for transfer given on 6/3 in T480/74.

Chit dated 1400/9/3:-
the Staffel is ready to operate in Breitscheid from 1400/9/3. Till 1400 hrs a/c were u/s because of sinking in on the landing area. No ops on 8/3 because of mist and cloud to ground level.

I was told that NAG 14 was in Breitscheid in March.

Stab. 1., 2. u. 3./NAGr. 14 were all at Györ (Raab) and other bases in western Hungary during March. I have a full account of its activities there and there is no evidence placing it in Germany.
