JU88 Crashed on 1/6/42 in Toulouse

Hi,

I am looking for information on a Junker 88 which crashed on June 1, 1942 in the south of Toulouse.

It slammed the roof of the Auzeville Manor (4 Km south East of Toulouse) and burnt, setting the manor in fire.

It seems that the crew (4) were killed in the crash.

Any information would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

GC

Bonjour Gilles

Are you sure of the date ? On 1 June 1942 Toulouse was still in the free zone ruled by Vichy, and a Ju 88 had nothing to do there.

Is this anywhere near Mons? Excuse my less than stellar knowledge for the geography of France. A Ju 88 from IV./KG 3 crashed near there on 2-Jun-42 according to the Schulen loss reports.

Morning' guys,

Laurent, I have the same doubt as you have. My witness is not sure of the date and I bet this event took place later on, in 1943 or 1944.

(Thenelm: Mons is not close to Toulouse: Mons is up in the North close to Lille whereas Toulouse is south west);

So, I shall try to crosscheck the actual date and let you know.

Thanks to you both.
