NZ Air Gunner 255 Sqn

Can anyone confirm the name of Flt Lt R M Trousdale's NZ AG in 1941? Some records say Sgt F J W Chumm, the combat report says Sgt M J Chumm (or possibly Churm?)

Re: NZ Air Gunner 255 Sqn

There is a combat report for Sgt F J W Chunn at TNA Online.

The surname Chunn is confirmed in the NZTEC Official history:

Death notice for Francis William John Chunn DFC:

Chris,

I have noticed that you have had several posts looking for information about Defiant air gunners. Might I ask what project you are working on?

Cheers,
Peter

Peter: My book 'The Luftwaffe's Blitz' will be out late Summer (it is with the publishers now). As per usual, I am trying to give full names to those aircrew mentioned hence my queries

Re: NZ Air Gunner 255 Sqn

Chris,
My focus is the claims made by New Zealand air gunners with the Fighter Command and this book is definitely on my "to buy list". A look at the other side and maybe a possibility to see if the claims were correct.

Peter
