Bf 110 G9+CR : Any information available?
Hello,
I am looking for information about Bf 110 G9+CR. I assume it was a nightfighter of NJG1. Unfortunately, the Wk.Nr. is not known, so there could have been several different Bf 110 with this code. Thank you, Regards, Roger Gaemperle |

Re: Bf 110 G9+CR : Any information available?
Here is some additional information:
Quite probably one of the crew member's name was Ortmann, although I don't think he was the pilot. But he participated on at least 20 victories, so his pilot must have been well known. Perhaps that helps to identifz G9+CR or even Ortmann. Thank you, Roger Gaemperle |

Re: Bf 110 G9+CR : Any information available?
Hello Roger,
I think you are searching Bordfunker Johan Ortmann: * 21.08.1921 + 21.04.1995 He came in 1941 to the 7./NJG 1 in Twente. On 14.10.1941 Gfr. Erhard Bruhnke and Uffz. Ortmann make their first claim. On 28.12.1941 Uffz. Ortmann participated with Oblt. Woltersdorf, III./NJG 1. At the beginning for 1942 he flow with Gfr. Bruhnke and Oblt. van Hagenow. Then Lt. Werner Rapp was his new pilot. In August 1943 both were tranfer to the 5./NJG 5. Uffz. Ortmann flow with Lt. Rapp until the end of the war. Uffz. Ortmann participated on 20 claims in 90 missions. Re: Bf 110 G9+CR : Any information available?
Hello Willi and Melvin,
That was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much. It is amazing how quickly such information can be found with the help of this community of Luftwaffe experts. I assume that the G9+CR I was looking for was probably the first in Melvin's list Wk.Nr. 2643 as it was flown by Woltersdorf. Is there any photo of Rapp, Woltersdorft, Bruhnke and especially Ortmann published somewhere? I did some web-search for Rapp and found the following list of victories 16.12.42 Ltn. Rapp 7./NJG 1 Stirling Gortel 500m 7 k SW Epe 21.50 C 2027/I Anerk Nr 03.02.43 Ltn. Werner Rapp 7./NJG 1 Halifax 5 km NW Quakenbrück 5000m 20.48 C 2027/I Anerk Nr.52 30.03.43 Ltn. Flugbuch Ortmann for trade
I have recently received the original logbook of Ortmann which includes all of his 90 combat missions as well as the 20 confirmed kills (stamped and signed). He even flew bombing missions against Russion troops at very end of the war in Me 110 nightfighters.
I would be willing to offer this extremely rare logbook with 20 aerial victories in trade for a logbook that belonged to a pilot who flew with the Me 262. I know they are rare as well, but perhaps a collector who is mainly interested in nightfighters and in logbooks with so many confirmed kills is willing to trade. Please send me a PM if interested. Thank you. Roger Gaemperle |
