Which unit for a Bf109E?

I have been asked to find some information regarding a Bf109E that was rammed by PO K.W. Mackenzie on the 7th October 1940.

Mackenzie had run out of ammunition in his Hurricane and then rammed a 109 and sliced off it's tail. The 109 plunged into the sea.

Does anyone know who was the German pilot and which unit he was from?
