Color still photo of a black Bf 109
Hello,
Just came across this interesting still photo of a black Bf 109. It is not the Bf 109 G-6/AS of 2./EJG 2 captured at Gardelegen (propeller spinner is different) but may have come from the same unit. http://www.criticalpast.com/products...5675020427/149 There are other great color still photos of Luftwaffe planes (many I personally have never seen before) at that site. Enjoy. Regards, Roger |

Re: Color still photo of a black Bf 109
Have you find more images of above linked plane during your search?

Re: Color still photo of a black Bf 109
Hallo Roger,
Yes, I stumbled also on those excellent US colour films shot in April 1945 at Nürnberg and Grafenwöhr. As for the BF 109 G, it is actually an Erla Bf 109 G-10 with the flat canted panel under the windscreen, found at Grafenwöhr. This plane has been discussed in depth in the following thread: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showth...t=Grafenw%F6hr A fine and sharp black and white picture exists also from the same machine: http://www.pbase.com/rhssr/image/1671876 You can notice there this machine was actually finished in a segmented RLM 82/RLM 83 pattern which lower limit went down until the wing. The undersurfaces might have been left in bare metal. A colour profile has been published in 2007: "Captured Me109's" by Jacek Jackiewicz and Mirosław Wawrzyński: http://www.soundcity.pl/Kecay/Me109/17.jpg Cheers Marc Last edited by Marc-André Haldimann; 11th August 2010 at 22:42. |

Re: Color still photo of a black Bf 109
Hi Marc,
Ahhh, I see. Interesting, I could have sweared that it was black, but it only appeared very dark. It is nice to see a better photo of the same plane, even if in b/w. Thanks. Hi Pilot, Yes, there are more. If you search for e.g. German planes at that website you will find more such photos. Am going to post some other amazing photo links (maybe I am late and everybody knows already, but I thought I have to share these) in a few minutes. Kind regards, Roger |
