Fredcompa,
I found pilot Stefan Sempert of 2./KG 30, KIA 40-05-16, crashed at Wavre (B) en burried
Lommel P21 Grab 509. This is possibly the pilot of the a/c you are looking for.
I have no more details.
Frans A.

Hello FRans A., Matti Salonen & Alain 57 !
Thanks for your kind help. However it seems that some names of crewmembers are reported once as KIA and another time as WIA....
We'll check again ,
Fredcompa

Re: May 16th 1940, Belgium. STROHMAIER Herman

Dear Matti, Alain,

according to VDK-Database (Gräbersuche), there is a

Uffz. Gramse, Waldemar; * 8.1.1916, + 17.5.1940

final resting place: Lommel (B), 21-505

Could this be the (Bf) "Grasse" alias "Gracze" ?
What spelling is correct ?

Strohmaier (Strohmeier) is not mentionend in der VDK-DB.

Regards,
Uwe, Karlsruhe/D

2./KG30 Junkers Ju88A-1. Hit by ground-fire during attack on roads west of Brussels and crashed and burned out near Ernarge, south of Wavre, 12.00 p.m. BS Uffz Stefan Sempert killed, BF Uffz Waldemar Gramse badly wounded – died next day, BO Oberfw Hermann Strohmaier badly wounded and FF Hptmn Karl Hielscher (Staffelkapitän) slightly wounded – both returned later. Aircraft 100% write-off.
