List of USAAF victories against FW 190s in 1943
Hi,
A couple of months ago Morten Jessen and I posted an article on the Air War Publications website that listed USAAF aerial victory claims against FW 190s in the Mediterranean theatre. We then attempted to match up who the USAAF pilots were actually fighting against in each combat, and how accurate their claims were. The period covered is 14 May to 2 September 1943. Given the recent discussion about Luftwaffe fighter pilot over-claiming and alleged falsifying, I thought that it might interest some to see an effort at matching claims and losses based on primary sources.
