Seeking ID of Hs126 CL while supporting 3rd Panzer Division in Luxembourg on 11.05.40

Hello,

Our EOE Luxembourg and Belgian experts are stumped. Does anyone recognize this Hs126 photo just sold on eBay? The caption says that it was taken May 11, 1940 in Luxembourg while supporting the 3rd Panzer Division. The problem is that 3rd PD didn't operate through Luxembourg during May, 1940. If the 3rd Panzer Division info and timing is correct, this might have been in the Maastricht area of the Netherlands. There is a large water tower visible on the far left horizon. Does anybody recognize this? Is anybody aware of other images previously appearing on eBay or elsewhere?

Regards,

Chris,

Looks like a serious possibility. Yours may be AufklärungsGr 41 with a 6K code. When I get the original of the above photo, I'll have something to compare the codes with, thanks to you.

Warm regards,

Chris

I think it is different though could have been taken a few weeks apart.

Trees, grass. First letter different. One seems to show a fuselage letter the second doesn't.

Not going on flaps/elevators - these can change between photos.

Has the first had its engine ripped off and the second not?

It seems the Hs126 had a tendancy to loose the starboard undercarriage before the port. Torque of the engine?

Could be wrong but I think they are different.

regards

Mark
