Interesting photo of Me109 E W.Nr. 1184...possibly?
I found this recently...
Captions on the back state a Jg26 bird with W.Nr. 1184. Sooooo...question is: If this is in-fact 1184, when did she get changed to the cam job she crashed in...if it is not...then whose bird is it? hmmmmmmm... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Interesting photo of Me109 E W.Nr. 1184...possibly?
Hello,
I have a high-quality image of this photo, and have it in the EOE DB (thanx to Peter Taghon) as 1164. That could explain the above question; it wasn't 1184. Regards, |

Thanks to Falcon,
http://www.me109.info/display.php?a=e&fid=6179 Most probably in Essen-Mülheim. UPSSS, forget it ![]() Cheers, Franck. PS: I forgot, and page 212, JFV Teil II you have the date, approx, when they change the camo... even if it's not WNr.1184.... |

Re: Interesting photo of Me109 E W.Nr. 1184...possibly?
Hello,
This is definitely Stab III./JG26. It came from a collection of photos from that unit. Regards, |

Re: Interesting photo of Me109 E W.Nr. 1184...possibly?
Yes Larry,
Stab III./JG 26, end of 1939, Essen-Mülheim. My problem is the following, when reading "<I" I thought Gruppen adjudant hence Lt. Joachim Münchenberg plane (see picture P211, JVF, Teil II) during that period, until I realised that kennung was for Geschwader Adjudant. But the other problem is that Prien is giving "<1" for "Gruppen beim Stab" plane, not "<I" so the question is What does mean "<I" in Stab of III./JG 26 context during that period? Thanks, Franck. |

Re: Interesting photo of Me109 E W.Nr. 1184...possibly?
Franck,
Photos of Lt Müncheberg's 109 from III./JG26 show a chevron without a vertical bar, and definitely the Gr. Adjutant's plane. Regards, |
