Shipping requirement USAAF in UK

Anyone here knowledgeable about the requirements in ship capacity to support the US Air Force in the UK 1942-1944? Need reliable sources for this. I am reyinfg to understand the shipping cost of sustaining the various air wings operating out of the UK in those years.
