605 Sqn Nov 1940 ORB ?

Has anybody got a copy of the Oct + Nov 1940 ORBs for 605 Sqn ?

I'm loooking for any references to my Grandfather ( Czeslaw Tarkowski ) or his best friend P/O Gauze

I met Bob Foster last week and sadly he couldn't rememember either of them .

Please email me on mattm 1970 @ hotmail.com

Thanks

btw if anybody has Oct 1940 to Feb 1941 then that covers the full time that GF served in 605

Re: 605 Sqn Nov 1940 ORB ?

Notes that I extracted from the No.605 Squadron ORB some 40 years ago confirm that GAUZE & TARKOWSKI both arrived on the squadron on 26 October 1940 with only 30 hours apiece on Hurricanes. Significant entries regarding these two pilots (supplemented by other sources over the years) are as follows:

15 November 1940: Hurricane V6951. Shot down by Oberstlt Adolf Galland (Kommodore) of Stab JG26 in action over North Foreland 9.28 a.m. Pilot Officer C. Gauze killed. Aircraft a write-off.
Note: Norman Franks records this as ditched in the Channel - source unknown.

8 November 1940: Hurricane N2649. Shot down in sporadic action involving scattered Bf109s at 25,000 feet over Maidstone area 8.50 a.m. Pilot Officer Czeslaw Tarkowski baled out unhurt landing in an oak tree at Sissinghurst Court. Aircraft UP*O a write-off.
No corresponding German claim has been identified. Nor are there any Luftwaffe losses that relate to three claims filed by Nos.501 and 605 Squadrons for Bf109s damaged north of Cranbrook during this action.
Note: John Foreman (1988) records this forced-landed at Staplehurst during the p.m. as repeated by Norman Franks (1997)

So if anyone can help flesh out these entries with additional details then I would be most grateful.
