Re: 3/JG 77 Pilots 1940

Hi Chris

Hans Hopp made one claim a SB-3 on 23rd October 1941 at 1302 hrs as a Leutnant with 2./Jg51 He was born in 1920 and went missing in combat with Russian aircraft South of Talzy on 15th November 1941.

Gunther Biese made two claims:-

10th October 1940 3./Jg77 Blemheim South of folkestone at 1848hrs
30th August 1941 St./Jg51 I-15 East of Scheschimskaja at 1728hrs and 1200 metres altitude.

Both as an Oberleutnant

Regards

Johannes

Re: 3/JG 77 Pilots 1940

Thanks but not 100% sure about Hopp as according to a contemporary I/JG 77 documents, its says in Summer of 1940 he was an Oblt with 3 Staffel.

Another mystery is Oblt Köterisch with Stab I/JG 77-cannot find him as well

Is the name Beise or Biese? I have Beise in my claims file.

Re: 3/JG 77 Pilots 1940

Hi Chris,

This is what I have got for Günther Beise after surfing through different JFV volumes:

41.03.xx to 41.06.15 Staka 1/ErgänzG/JG51
41.06.15 to 41.08.01 Stab/ErgänzG/JG51
41.08.01 to ?? Stab/JG51
42.09.xx to 43.03.31 GK I/JG1
43.04.01 to 43.04.15 GK II/JG11

No information afterwards.

There are two victories recorded in JFV:

40.10.10 at 18.48h Blenheim South of Folkestone
41.08.30 at 17.28h I-15 East of Sechtsjinskaja

Hope this is useful.

Regards

Re: 3/JG 77 Pilots 1940

Hi Chris

Regarding Hans Hopp

It was definately he who made the claim with 2./JG51 on 23rd October 1941, but as a Leutnant, so could be a different guy than your Oberleutnant with JG77. Demotion did happen, but rarely, and usually more than just a single drop!

Regards

Johannes

Re: 3/JG 77 Pilots 1940

Hi Chris

I think it was Oblt. Gerhard Ködderitzsch from the Stabskompanie I./JG 77. He died on the 15. Mai 1941 in a crash in Lübeck-Blankensee as Kapitän of the 1.Staffel I./JG 54.

Greetings Christian
