6/7 May 1944 – Intruder mission over France

Hello,

I found this info into the war diary of the Flugzeugführerschule B-15, a German flying school located on the Bourges airfield, France: “In the night of 6/7 May 1944, around 3 hours, the airfield was attacked by a lone fighter-bomber which dropped two medium bombs on the taxiways near the air traffic control building and which caused some minor damages with its weapons.” This night there, several Mossie were sent for Intruder missions and I am looking for the involved Squadron. Perhaps ORB of well-known Intruder RAF units (like No. 418 or 605 Sqns) refer to something for that night?

Best regards,
Frederic

Bonjour Martin,

Great! Thanks a lot for your reply.
A last question: Do you know their operating area this night there?

Best regards,
Frederic

Their primary target was to intrude over Bourges. After the attack there they went to Avord and attacked a gun position with cannon

Merci Martin,

Avord A/D was a satellite airfield for the Flugzeugführerschule B-15.

Regards,
Frederic
