Luftwaffe font needed, but not "Blockschrift"

Dear all,
In to complete a Nachtjagd diorama I am looking for a suitable font to produce airfield roadsigns and warning messages.

I have seen the "Blockschrift" fonts used for aircraft markings, but this is different.

I tried to match some low quality pictures found on internet with the 'what the font' recogniser tool, but to no avail.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

regards

Bert

Looks promising Kari!.. looks a bit modern, but it seems it has prewar origins that may be useful...I'll go through the wiki info and references, many thanks!
Cheers, Bert

Re: Luftwaffe font needed, but not "Blockschrift"

To me, 'Engschrift" version from DIN 1451 looks most 'wartime', and is plausible since it was in widespread use for signs and technical drawings, so a font that was probably part of any Luftwaffe environment.

In my standard fontset in powerpoint there's the Gill fonttype that , in two variants, produces something that comes close... i think..

what does the audience think?

I have used 'Consolas' typo and it looks fine with the common 'Rauchen Verboten'
