Help solve a mystery: seeking ID of Bf110C with 7 white victory tabs on fin from BoB Period
Hello,
I hope someone here can help solve a mystery. I have a close-up photo of the starboard fin of a green camouflaged Bf110C that shows seven white victory tabs, all with RAF roundels at the top of the tab, and below at an angle across the middle is written in German script the type and location of the victory claimed. There are no other markings visible to indicate the unit, W.Nr. or the dates for the victory tabs. They are: 1) Hurricane - Dünkirchen 2) Hurricane- London 3) Hurricane - London 4) Hurricane - London 5) Hurricane - London 6) Spitfire - Bristol 7) Spitfire - Southampt. With this information, can anyone figure out whose victory scoreboard this would be? There really weren't that many Zerstörer pilots with seven victory claims from this period. However, there are quite a few from ZG2 and ZG26 whose claims totals we don't even know for sure. Thanx, Larry Hickey EoE Project Coordinator |
