I am in a position to know a little about this and am aware that the MOD told the family the remains were definitely not those of Flt Sgt Copping. Now, it has transpired that the remains have not been tested at all and are still in desert - albeit that the P40 (nearby) was recovered some weeks ago with RAFM involvement. The family have now been told that it is not known if the remains are those of Dennis, or not, and a formal apology is said to be pending.

Incomprehensible, really.
