				Halifax LW674 - 8/NJG5 Claim 11/06/1944
			 Hello All, Having now confirmed that Halifax LW674 420 Sqn Tholthorpe PT*E was shot down by Ofw.Herbert Altner of 8/NJG5 on 11/06/1944 SW Paris at approx 00:43 Hours has any kind soul have any Information in the way of: 1) What Aircraft & Markings was Altner flying in? (Probably a Me110 or JU88 at a guess?) and does anyone have an image of the Aircraft?. 2) I think it may have been discussed in a previous thread but does anyone have an Image of Altner at all? And last but not least any Images/Information of Halifax LW674 E for Easy however small & insignificant. If you can help in any way at all please let us know. Many Thanks - Keith. |

			 Hi Keith,  Unfortunately I cannot help you regarding your current investigation but I can provide you with some information on Herbert Altner. I was lucky enough to meet Herr Altner at Duxford back in 1996. Herr Altner and I were meeting with former No.57 Sqdn tail-gunner Len Manning who was shot down by Herbert during operations on the 18/19.07.44 in Lancaster JB318. I hope you find the attachments of some use, I have not had time to add this loss to our remembrance pages, but it will be added over the winter months! 			 That is smashing Melvin! - Many Thanks for all the Pictures they are absolutely top-notch!. Thanks to Howard Waller we now both have most of the story of LW674 but still are searching for that elusive picture of PT*E - Easy 420 Sqn (RCAF) RAF Tholthorpe - The Holoway Crew  Always searching for any Information of the Crew or Aeroplane however small - Keeping our fingers crossed for something in the future?
